Parent Reviews
My daughter attended Little Critters for two years starting when she was 7 months old. Little Critters provided warm and personal care, and I was confident my daughter was lovingly cared for. Homemade meals are provided and are exceptional (e.g., pork tenderloin stuffed with roast apricots). When my daughter missed her first Little Critters Thanksgiving lunch because she was out sick, Linda (the cook and mother of Suzie, the director) made Thanksgiving lunch again the following day. When my daughter had a difficult morning, Suzie would text me to let me know how things were going at school. The owners and staff at Little Critters always treated me and my daughter like family. At the end of our time, they presented us with a wonderful book of photos of my daughter's development.
My son went to Little Critters as an infant and we loved the experience. Suzie, Linda, Sandy, and the other caregivers exude warmth and positive energy. I felt comfortable dropping my son off into their loving embraces from day one, and it brought me a lot of joy to see them care for my son as if he were their own. Linda cooks amazing meals for the kids, Suzie is the director and manages to keep all the detailed information about the kids straight. Communication with her was always direct, clear, and kind. She puts up amazing seasonal decorations and hosts events, so the daycare feels like a community. Sandy is wonderful and speaks Spanish to the kids, which was a big bonus for us. I can't say enough positive things about our time there, I highly recommend!
As a former preschool teacher myself, I had high standards when seeking part-time childcare for my baby (now toddler). The moment I stepped into Suzie's space on our tour, I knew my son would be in great hands. Little Critters is an intentional, warm, safe and engaging space for children to thrive within. Suzie and her team are extremely capable, professional, and communicative and I am able to feel confident after dropping off my (slow to warm) son. Even though he is a part-time "drop in" kiddo, Suzie has built a special bond with him and he enjoys his time at "school"! As a stay at home mom who needs minimal hours, I am particularly grateful for the flexible subscription program and believe all families (full time, part time, drop in) are lucky to be a part of the LC community!
My child has been going to Little Critters full time as a baby and now toddler, and it has been a great experience for our whole family. The LC staff -- Suzie, Linda, Sandy, Clara, and Kira -- are such a warm, close-knit and family-like team. Aside from bringing many combined decades of childcare experience, they seem to really enjoy each other, the children, and their work. That makes for a wonderful atmosphere of joy, play, humor and friendship on top of Little Critters feeling reliably safe, health-conscious, and structured to care for babies daily needs and development. We love the space Suzie has created. She has built out her in-home space with babies and toddlers in mind and the large backyard is a dream Sunset play-space. Also special are the home-made meals (by chef, "mom", Linda!). Our child lights up and reaches for the door and caregivers when we arrive at LC in the mornings, and has clearly had healthy, happy, full days at pick up. As first time parents, we've appreciated the balanced way LC staff support our parenting -- lending their observations and insights about our child while also receiving ours and empowering us in our decisions. Finally, we enjoy everyone we meet through LC and appreciate the occasional hosting of parents' and family socials that Suzie does as well. It goes above and beyond to foster a sense of community! If you are considering LC, feel free to reach out and ask for testimonials. There are parents here who would be glad to share our experience.
