Parent Reviews
We feel incredibly lucky to have found this daycare. Both of our children have attended since they were 6 months old, and it has truly been like a second home them. The environment is warm, nurturing, and full of care. It’s clear every day how much love and attention the children receive. We appreciate the children’s exposure to Mandarin and having them grow up hearing another language and experiencing a broader sense of the world from such a young age. The home-cooked meals are another standout. Knowing our kids are being fed healthy, thoughtfully prepared food each day gives us so much peace of mind. Our son is happy to go each morning, and has formed such strong bonds with his caregivers. We are deeply grateful for the care and wholeheartedly recommend it to any parent looking for a loving and enriching environment for their child
We have been sending our toddler (almost 3 now) here ever since he was 8 months old and loves it. Selena and all the teachers send us daily updates / photos and videos, and host different activities throughout the week including music wednesdays! They take care of everyone and are more flexible than many other day cares, which is a huge plus for two working parents. Our toddler has learned a lot here and made some good friends. Highly recommended!
Our son has attended Nana’s for 1+ yrs (since he was 18mo) and we/he has had a great experience thanks to the kind and caring staff. They do a variety of activities with the kids, including music, drawing, dancing and outdoor play, and serve home-cooked meals. He’s learned the alphabet, songs in Mandarin and English, how to count and much more. Mandarin is mostly spoken and taught to the children. Neither me nor my husband speaks Mandarin but the teachers also speak Cantonese (which I do) and the director (Selina) can communicate in English. We particularly appreciate their flexibility, regular communication (daily photos, text messages/face-to-face updates, etc) and hours (8am-5:30pm). If you’re considering a mandarin-immersion home daycare in Mission Bay, we highly recommend Nana’s and will be placing our baby in their care when it’s time!
There are so many good things to say about Selina and her team. We started our second daughter there around 4 months old and they have been nothing short of welcoming, flexible and supportive. They checked in regarding her nap schedules while she was transitioning down from 3 naps and helped with all her milestones. It was always a supportive discussion. I never felt judged or rushed. My daughter gets outdoor playtime, music exposure and arts and crafts and Chinese immersion. The team helps to send daily pictures and videos to keep us updated and a daily log at the end of the day to let us know about meals, naps and diaper changes. So if you’re looking for a new daycare for your little one, I highly recommend Selina and her team. I wished I had found them sooner for my first child!
Selina and all the teachers are absolutely wonderful. Our daughter started when she just turned 1 and now it’s been almost 2 years. At drop off our daughter lights up and jumps straight into their arms and I know she is well taken care of. She has a blast, learning so much and they have helped raise her. If you want be able to go to work and know your child is truly well taken care of and loved - this daycare is for you. We feel so lucky to have found them and never want to leave!
Nana and her group of care givers are extremely supportive to us. The amount of knowledge for childcare, when to watch out for things, how to deal with difficult situations when it comes, etc. Almost feel like a family! Our son has been going to Nana’s since he was 4mo and now 19mo. He is happy to play, learn, and to be curious :)
Choosing a daycare was one of the tougher decisions for us, but Nana’s Daycare has made that transition feel completely right. Our daughter joined when she was just over a year old, and since then, we’ve seen such positive growth in her. What stands out most is the genuine care from the team. There’s a warmth and attentiveness Our daughter settled in quickly, and now she heads in each morning with a big smile, which says everything.
I can’t say enough good things about Nana’s. We sent both of our children here, and they both thrived at Nana’s! We toured a few different daycares in SOMA and Mission Bay and immediately had good vibes about Nana’s. The environment was clean and orderly, and both Amy and Selina were engaged and interested in our child. The whole time the kids were there, we felt that they were safe and well cared for. The staff is very responsive and it really felt like they cared about each of their charges. Not to mention that food is included is a huge godsend for busy parents. Selina and Amy work hard to bring an awesome variety of educational and artistic programming to the kids, such as music teachers and arts and crafts. They even stage fun little seasonal photo shoots for the kids! We really treasure those photos! We moved to another city but we really miss the team there. When our elder child left, Selina even made a little graduation reel for us. Absolutely recommend Nana’s Daycare!
Nana's Family Child Care is exceptional. They're so caring with our 2 year old son and always keep us updated about how he is doing. They nurture our child and teach him important life skills on a daily basis. If you are looking for a flexible, kind and loving child care for your child, this is the place!
