Parent Reviews
Pacifica Co-op Nursery School has been an incredible experience for our family. What stands out most is how it truly feels like a community—everyone, from the teachers to the parents, is deeply invested in the children's growth and development. Since starting in September, I've seen my daughter's maturity and listening skills improve significantly, and she’s becoming more independent every day. The hands-on, collaborative nature of the school is ideal for families with one working parent and one stay-at-home parent, as the level of parent involvement required is high. While it’s a big time commitment, the sense of connection and the bonds we’ve formed with other families make it more than worth it. It’s a place where both children and parents grow together, and we couldn’t be happier with our choice. The beautiful facilities in the quiet neighborhood are such a bonus! I love bringing my dogs to pick up my daughter and going to the dog park next door after school. I know we'll both cherish these memories for the rest of our lives.
Our daughter thrived so much at the Pacifica Co-op Nursery School. We love the outdoor space and the teachers and director are so loving and experienced. The days seem magical through our daughter’s eyes and we cannot wait for our second daughter to attend next!
My child struggled with adapting during the first week and I was surprised to discover that instead of collaboration and open communication geared towards accommodating our needs, we were pretty much pushed out. The communication with the management team, consisting of the teachers and a board of members, was poor, borderline toxic, and definitely not co-operative. The two trained teachers on-site showed such a lack of basic understanding of toddler development and age-appropriate behavior that I didn’t feel comfortable entrusting my child with them. It is a shame since the facilities are amazing and the parents involved are truly committed. Hope this is a temporary glitch and the school can figure out a more collaborative and inclusive approach in the future, as they seem to have done in the past.
The coop is a wonderful, caring place for children. There is a lot of outside space for the kids, and the teachers are very invested in the success of the school. In fact, all of the teachers' kids have attended the coop! It is a community institution in Pacifica, with a lot of parent involvement and investment to run the school. This is our third year, and I am so happy that I found the coop!
My son loves Rainbow School. Because it’s a co-operative school, I know his friends and their parents really well. It’s really a community. My youngest will also go to PCNS when he’s old enough in a year and a half. I also have a son with Down syndrome who is not enrolled at PCNS, but loves singing the “Goodbye Song” when we pick up his brother. He starts saying “happy day” as soon as we pull into the parking lot. He also enjoys attending the parties and field trips with his older brother.
The coop is a wonderful place with experienced, caring teachers and parents that are really keen to be involved in running the school. My son really looks forward to going to school, and playing on the playground and engaging in different activities every time. I also learn from the other parents and in interacting so closely with the other children who attend. PCNS is a great for parents who wants to be involved with their child's development at school and feel ownership of their child's upbringing and experience.
