Head Start program serving children of low-income families near Walter Gladwin Park. Teachers and staff understand that each child learns differently and provide a variety of activities where children are encouraged to explore and learn in their own way. Staff guide children’s behavior by using a variety of appropriate strategies and techniques such as redirecting negative behavior, offering choices, and engaging children in positively stated rule-making, and teaching children how to resolve conflicts with peers. Program reinforces three core elements which are a willingness to learn, impulse control through self-regulation, and attention management for ensuring kindergarten and school readiness.
