With a low teacher-to-student ratio of 2:9, each child receives individual attention in a nurturing environment. Many of our graduates continue on to Stella Maris Academy (TK–8th grade), giving families a smooth transition within a trusted school community. We offer rolling enrollment and welcome students starting at 2 years old (potty trained) and up.

We are not Catholic and we love this school and would recommend for people from all backgrounds. We live in the inner Richmond and toured every option in the neighborhood for our almost 3 yo. Stella Maris was easily the best option. We immediately felt the love, organization, dedication of the teachers and staff and really appreciated that the preschool is within a larger school ecosystem. The preschool has it all - heavy Montessori focus with adorable handmade 'toys', arts, motor skills development, learning letters, and just learning how to be a little kid! They have a cute playground (with sandbox!) and trikes, and a water table etc. And of course, the pricing is great. Tour! Meet the teachers! Our daughter has grown from a toddler into a confident, curious little kid thanks to the teachers, staff, other kids, and community.

Star of the Sea has a solid educational foundation and the teachers are all so warm and caring. They create a safe environment for the children and are invested in their growth and development. From the day we toured, we felt incredibly connected and knew this was where our daughter would thrive and flourish. Communication is stellar and we appreciate the weekly updates to keep families informed of our child’s learning journey. We had such an amazing experience and we feel truly blessed to be part of this wonderful community.
Star of the Sea was an amazing experience for my daughter. She loved it there and I’m glad she went there. The teachers were so loving and kind, and clearly are invested in the children’s well being and education. Additionally, they do a great job at providing Catholic education and instilling Catholic values.
I absolutely loved our experience at Star of the Sea Preschool! Both of my boys attended for the past few years, and it has been such a wonderful journey. The team of teachers is truly special, they complement one another beautifully, each bringing their own expertise and knowledge, which creates such a well-rounded learning environment. I really appreciate how the program includes so much: Spanish immersion, Montessori elements, and religion, all while keeping the atmosphere warm, kind, and welcoming for every little one. My kids were always so happy at pick-up time, which to me says it all. The classroom is filled with natural light, thoughtfully arranged, and stocked with excellent materials. Beyond that, the school fosters a genuine sense of community that we felt lucky to be part of. I’m so grateful for the love and care my children received here, it’s truly a wonderful place!
