My daughter has been attending The Hummingbirds since she was 17 months old. Let’s just say she didn’t even miss me the first time I left her in Miss Adela’s care! I can’t say enough good things about this facility, it’s immaculately clean with a HEPA filter running, Miss Adela switches toys out daily and comes up with art projects, lovely outdoor space, the communication about my daughter’s day is top notch, and you can tell Miss Adela cares about child development by the way she supports brain, social and emotional growth of her kiddos. You won’t find a second family as good as Miss Adela!

Adela is the best! She was wonderful with my son, Jack and he still talks about her. As a family we still keep in touch and keep her updated with Jack. She is truly one of a kind and you’ll wonder where all the energy and patience comes from. Additionally, the daycare is always immaculately clean and I received frequent updates and was notified immediately if Jack was sick or even slightly hurt from just being a toddler. Hummingbirds is a wonderful place!

We've had our 2.5 year old daughter in nearly every daycare situation (nanny, in-home daycare, traditional daycare facility) and The Hummingbirds, owned and run by the incomparable Adela, is the best of all three options. Adela creates a warm and nourishing environment for her "little hummingbirds". She provides a perfect combination of structured activities and free child-led play. My daughter comes home having learned new words, new songs, new stories, and always a project she is proud to display. From a practical level, the daycare has plenty of safe and clean spaces for the children to play or have quiet time. The large backyard was a highlight for us. Our daughter gets plenty of exercise riding bikes, climbing on playground equipment, drawing with sidewalk chalk, and playing all sorts of ball sports. Adela provides healthy, homecooked snacks and meals - a great relief not to have to worry about bringing that ourselves every day. We've especially appreciated Adela's communication style and the way she views the childrens' families as partners in helping the child grow and develop. It is clear Adela treats every child like she would her own. She is loved by all her students and their parents. You and your child will not be disappointed with The Hummingbirds.

We love Adela and her school, The Hummingbirds. We’ve had the pleasure of sending both of our children to The Hummingbirds and have now known Adela for over four years. She is truly one of a kind. Beyond being incredibly experienced and truly having seen it all, she is loving and kind, and our kids adore her. She is attentive to your child’s needs yet also helped our children build their independence.

Our daughter started here in September at 20 months and we couldn’t be more thrilled. Within just a few days, she was fully settled in and confidently waving us goodbye at drop off. Adela exudes warmth and calm. Her space is immaculate and cheerful and she feeds the kids lunch and snacks (packing lunch was such a pain at our old pre COVID daycare). She sends about 15-20 pictures a day and a mid day email update. I have also feel comfortable from a safety standpoint—Adela wears a mask and gloves all day and it’s a small group of 4-5 kids. We were planning to just send her to Hummingbirds for a short time until she was 2 and could attend our older daughter’s daycare. We are so happy there that we might keep her there longer if we can! Highly recommend this daycare.

We chose Hummingbirds after visiting 40 daycares in the city. Our daughter thrived here (19 months to 36 months), Adela is exceptionally loving, caring and energetic care giver. My daughter also very much enjoyed doing all the fun projects with Idania. Now that my daughter is graduated and in a preschool, I miss receiving daily pictures and videos of my daughter (yes, Adela sends a bunch almost everyday) and the warm and healthy lunches and snacks Adela provided everyday (it is so much work to pack snacks and lunch). The space is amazing at Hummingbirds too - a huge, bright and open living room and family room where kids can be comfortable and spread out... and the huge private backyard and the side yard where kids can play in sand box and in play structure whenever weather is good. This is an exceptional daycare in the city.
