Sandy, Teacher Des, and the rest of the team have been pivotal for our toddler's development. They've helped guide him towards his first friends, traced letters, potty training, and a structured school environment. The space is beautiful, bright, clean, with tall windows, natural light, and three levels of play areas with a variety of toys that are refreshed regularly. The director, Sandy, has helped us problem solve tricky situations with a strengths-based, child-focused, and evidence-based early childhood development lens. Sandy's genuine, smart, reliable, empathetic, and responsive. The rest of the teachers are warm, kind, seem happy with their work, and truly care about the kids and their individual needs. We receive daily updates on their activities (including so many cool arts & crafts), our boy's participation patterns, and areas we're working on that could help his long-term school readiness. The inclusive integrated classroom has 50/50 neurotypical/neurodivergent ratios which also helps us understand potential flags. They're connected with the GGRC and other community resources if needed too. Our Speech Therapist was welcomed and encouraged to push in to the Social Skills Playgroup. There's OT style activities that have helped our kiddo adapt to new sensory experiences and learn ways to regulate. For example, he came home doing yoga poses with deep breaths! Modern PlaySpace is a gem and I would wholeheartedly recommend them.
