Description
Tobin offers a school-year, school-day PreK program from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. PreK is offered as a 4 day (Tuesday-Friday), or a 5 day option. These classrooms follow our academic year calendar with closures on school vacation days and dismissal at noon on early release days. Early childhood education is what we know best at the Tobin School. These early years present an opportunity for children to develop language and literacy skills. Our Preschool and Pre-K programs expose your child to a variety of new ideas, places, and things, setting the stage for strong social relationships. Children at this age learn best in an balanced environment of fun, exploratory play with an introduction to letters, numbers, shapes, and colors. Our Pre-K students take these beginning skills and build on them for Kindergarten-readiness.

Description
Does your child have a third year of preschool before Kindergarten? Our innovative Jr Kindergarten option is open to students who are 4.5 by September 1st and have completed a year of PreK or its equivalent, creating a more cohesive group of learners than a repetition of Pre-K. You can choose between a school day/school year program and a full-day option. Tobin’s Jr Kindergartens are both offered as 5 day a week programs. The goal of Jr Kindergarten is to take these children “as far as they can go”. Your child’s daily schedule includes free choice play and structured academic learning blocks for language arts, mathematics, science and social studies. Children also move around the building to join other classes for lunch, visit the Art Studio and Music Room, and more. With our Jr Kindergarten program, your child can have a developmentally appropriate learning experience, while taking full advantage of an extra year of learning and continuing to build important social, emotional, and academic skills.

Parent Reviews
Small class sizes for the early ed program. Qualified and quality teachers. Amazing parent/teacher communication. Curriculum is very strong. JrK classes super helpful for families who have a child who just missed the September cut-off dates for the public school and already did 2 years of Preschool/PreK. Children are not bored with doing the same academic curriculum again and build more social emotional skills to prepare them for Kindergarten. The afterschool program offering allows for continuous care from early education to school age. Natick's after school care is very competitive and knowing that there will be continuous care due to internal families having priority enrollment, is something invaluable so I am not scrambling for care ahead of the craziness of school starting. The program provides a great balance of structured and unstructured activities so children are not thrown into a gym to play for the afternoon. Children are learning through play, building social emotional skills, and being exposed to new activities and experiences. Their new STEAM Lab is pretty incredible too for all ages!
