Parent Reviews
Slippery Fish is an awesome school! My daughter started when she was just over 1.5, in the goldfish class, and it's been wonderful. They have a great outdoor and indoor area, and most of the day the kids can move back and forth between the two spaces. They also make sure to have all types of activities both indoors and outdoors (gross motor, fine motor, imaginative play, etc.). They have a great storage room full of materials so the materials rotate frequently. With the parents as teachers, the teacher to student ratio is great, but I'm glad there are experienced head teachers in all the classrooms who plan the day, deal with bigger problems, etc. Although it's play-based, there are fun themes for many of the weeks, based around exploring colors, holidays, etc. The location by Lake Merced turns out to be super easy if you can jump onto 280 South without too much trouble (Bernal, Glen Park, Mission), and also would be easy from parts of the Sunset and other neighborhoods in the southern parts of SF. Easy parking once you're there. The schedule and teaching involvement makes the school ideal for stay at home parents, but many of the families in our class make it work even with two working parents. I could go on, but won't. Definitely check it out!
