I live nearby and would drive past this place almost everyday. One day I found myself in a situation where I needed to find a tutor for my daughter. After evaluating my options, including a private tutor I decided to go with Sylvan. It's been a little over a year since we started and I am very pleased with the results. I like the fact that they start where the student is at and then systematically bring them forward while also allowing me to see the progress. I also like the fact that they offer a distraction free environment that allows the kids to focus on the task at hand. This has definitely been a great experience and would recommend them to anyone with a student that needs a little extra attention.

March 2026: Our son just completed his 3rd quarter iReady exams. Before Sylvan, he was testing at a Kindergarten level. He's been attending Sylvan Learning since October 2025 and he's now scoring in his 2nd grade level and even in 3rd grade in some areas of reading and math. We are very grateful to Sylvan for helping our student learn and grow in a fun and safe environment. February 2026 Update: Our second grader has made Honor Roll for the first semester of school! His confidence is through the roof! We are excited to see his next progress report for third quarter! It's been 2 months and our son is beginning to read and write on his own. He's improved in reading at school as well which is huge! We see him on track to read at his grade level well before the end of the school year. I like how I can see his progress in real time on the student portal.

My daughter started last summer off not being able to read and in just 2 short months she made massive progress. Aside from the progress she's made she truly enjoys her time during tutoring and loves the teachers she gets each session. She loves that they get rewards for their hard work and it definitely incentivizes her to do her best and work hard. Since we home school I've found that she really excels during her sessions and I've seen a huge difference when we're doing lessons at home. From a parents side I appreciate the fact that they have an online portal for me track her progress, they provide progress reports and that Amy has been so helpful to work around our crazy summer schedule. My only regret is that I didn't put her into tutoring sooner. After less than a year she is totally caught up with reading and moving on to working on competencies for the next grade. She is now going to take an assessment and receive tutoring for math as well as reading. I love that there is variety and she can work on different subjects.

Our daughter takes reading tutoring classes at Sylvan Learning and we have had a wonderful experience. They are very patient, kind, and explains everything in a way that helps children understand and feel confident. Since starting the sessions, my daughter has improved a lot in her reading and enjoys learning more. I truly appreciate there dedication and the positive impact they had on her progress. I highly recommend Sylvan learning.

Progress Report 4/23/26: 14 skills completed in 17 sessions! What makes me confident in this program is that our son's progress report matches with the skills he's completing at Sylvan. He's excelled in phonics at Sylvan and he has also excelled at phonics on his iReady exams at school. Update 3rd quarter: our son has mastered 110 skills in 74 sessions! He's progressing well in school and we predict he will be at level shortly. Our son started at Sylvan at the kindergarten level. After attending for 3.5 months he's right at the end of first grade and beginning 2nd grade level! He's jumped up over 50 points and his progress is showing up in his 2nd grade class. He loves the challenges and we love seeing his confidence increase!

Sylvan center has been a wonderful experience. Staff is kind and dedicated. The staff has creative ways to motivate their students. My daughter has attended Sylvan since May. After struggling with attention in class, my daughter fell behind. She just started 3rd grade and I am proud to say she just tested at her grade level in math. She has improved tremendously! All the teachers have a great positive attitude and make learning fun! Thank you!

Sylvan has been such a blessing to our family. The services are night and day compared to other tutoring services. The assessments are data driven and compared to national student outcomes. These assessments show detailed areas of strengths and weaknesses for your child and even have an assessment of your child's personality features that impact their academic success. From day 1 Ms Amy took her time to describe the program in detail while exhibiting her deep commitment to seeing students achieve. She did not rush us and answered all of questions with confidence. The online platform allows you to follow along with fine detail your child's progress in specific areas so that you can be confident that progress is occurring. Ms. Kat and Ms. Judy and all the staff are ALWAYS smiling and patient with the kids and parents. Even after 5p! This team truly loves children and have the educational experience to get students ahead in their academic success! **UPDATE 5/3!!*** My son has now been at Sylvan for almost 2 months. This is my updated review. My son's school (2nd grade) reading assessment scores had been actively in decline as he was stuck and not improving and this falling behind. His reading assessment scores from Sept 2024 to January 2025 were exactly the same with no improvement and he went down from on track to developing. With shock and amazement his May scores came out last week. All of his reading sub scores improved 30-40% in each category. For example, 37%-67%, 50%-80%, etc. I was nearly in tears! Not only is the Sylvan Team everything I said above but the system they use WORKS! We all know how difficult it is when you're working hard to help your kid get on track and nothing seems to work. Well I have found Sylvan and it has truly blessed our family. Please do not hesitate to get the help if you need it. This program is a Godsend! Update June 2025 A Summer Win with Sylvan! Sylvan has made summer learning an absolute breeze! Their flexible scheduling and thoughtful accommodations turned what could have been a dreaded tutoring experience into something just as fun and engaging as summer camp. My son actually looks forward to his sessions — and that's saying a lot for summer tutoring! What truly sets Sylvan apart is their dedication to crafting a personalized learning path. They've been laser-focused on helping my son reach his goals, including setting him up to successfully graduate from the program — not just keep him enrolled endlessly like some other places. Sylvan Leaning is fantastic! I was told about them through a friend that sent all 4 of her kids here. They are knowledgeable, listen to what is needed for your child and they go to work! My daughter is doing well and love it here. They have many options for payment so don't hesitate to reach out or go by the office to talk with someone. If I could give more than 5 stars I would! And I live in Greer, so that alone should say something.

We've had our 7-year-old at Sylvan for just a few months, and the progress has been amazing! She's already starting to read and has learned so much in such a short time.
