We absolutely love our village! Our daughter started here at 2 after being home with us her whole life, and we have been so amazed by how she has blossomed. Going to school is a huge highlight of her week-- she loves running into school every morning to see her teachers and friends. She comes home excited about all of the projects she gets to do. What makes this place special is the community: as parents without family nearby, we have found a true village here. The teachers are patient, attentive, and so invested in our daughter's growth and we’re constantly touched by how other parents genuinely care about her too. We love how involved families are in shaping the school. Parents and caregivers are always ready and willing to jump in to help. There is also a fun curriculum, monthly field trips, and seasonal celebrations. We feel so lucky to be part of a place that values all of our voices and experiences. VNS is not just a school; it is the supportive, joyful village we all needed. I could not recommend it more!
Thank you for your kind words Van Anh! We are so grateful you are part of the Village community!
Village Nursery is such a bright light in our lives! We were nervous looking for daycare options in the Bay Area for our daughter, and Village came highly recommended from a family friend. This place is amazing and we're so lucky we found such a wonderful co-op that relies on play based, child centered curriculum! Our daughter has now been here for seven months and absolutely loves the teachers and other students! The parent and teacher commitment and involvement is unmatched and it's been so fun to see how much our daughter has grown here since she started!
We LOVE our village. Loved it so much, we came back almost 10 years after our older kid attended. Families/members become friends. So, it’s basically a bunch of friends watching each other's kids.
I can't say enough wonderful things about Village Nursery School. Our son started there when he was just 24 months old, and while the transition from being at home full-time to a school environment was challenging, the teachers and other parents made sure we felt supported every step of the way. It was clear from the beginning that the school's co-op format is one of its greatest strengths, allowing families to be directly involved in their child's learning and development. As parents, we felt completely embraced by the community; the sense of camaraderie is unmatched. The co-op model really fosters an environment of mutual support, where everyone feels like they are working together to create a nurturing space for the kids. The teachers at Village Nursery School are truly exceptional. They are some of the most patient, kind, and knowledgeable individuals we've ever met. It's clear that they deeply care for each child and are dedicated to creating an environment where every child can thrive. Our son adores his teachers and looks forward to seeing them every day. Their guidance has helped him grow in so many ways, from developing social skills to learning how to express himself more confidently. We've seen firsthand how much thought and effort they put into their teaching. One of the things we appreciate most is how the staff made sure to keep us updated on our son's progress, especially during those early weeks. They were always available to answer questions, provide feedback, and offer reassurance. That level of communication made the transition so much easier for both us and our son. Now, our son is absolutely thriving. He loves school and gets excited every morning to go. It's so heartwarming to know that he's not only learning but also building strong friendships and growing in a safe, loving environment. If you're looking for a school that truly feels like a family and offers the most supportive, special community, I recommend enrolling your child at Village Nursery School. It's a place where children--and parents--feel truly valued.
To say we love Village Nursery is an understatement! When looking for school for our 2 year old to attend after only being with us or our parents was really daunting. How were we supposed find a place for the most important person based on just yelp reviews? Well the answer is Village Nursery! We’ve been there for a little over 6 months and it’s been incredible. From the moment we met the teachers and other parents we could tell how incredible this place is. Our daughter has just fallen in love and talks about her classmates and teachers so lovingly and misses them on the weekend. She does daily activities, is learning so much and she even surprises me on occasion and cleans up after herself unprompted at home while singing the school clean up song. We couldn’t be happier and I know you would be too!
My daughter attends here. We started with home daycare and transitioned to co-op. We are very happy with the change as this is more community oriented and offers a great play based curriculum.
When I first heard about Village Nursery, I thought it was an interesting way to be involved in your child's first education experience with the weekly volunteer days. What I didn't realize was the 70 year history of such a special place to build community and friendships. Parenting is definitely a humbling experience, and having a child at the beginning of the pandemic made us very aware of our child's need to be exposed to social situations. We started right when my little one was 25 months, and it was a very rough adjustment. Another family saw his understandably tough transition, and recommended a book to read to him about going to school. We had other parents check-in with us and send us photos so we knew how he was doing on the days they worked. I cannot emphasize how supported we felt from the teachers and other families, and realized it's all the in the name...it really "takes a Village." I love the fact that the parents (we see involvement from both dads and moms) are all there to support each other during this wild ride of parenting, but also that I get to be a part of their child's growth and development and get to know my little one's friends. It's a co-op, so that means it is run by families...with monthly meetings, monthly job tasks, maintenance hours, and fundraising goals. It's a lot, but it's all to build that community and create a space for our kids to grow and thrive. And the teachers create a curriculum that sparks social-emotional growth and curiosity of learning that will continue throughout our child's education. We've only been here a year, but feel the magic of the Village community and know we will be enrolling our second child when they turn 2. Oh, and another plus? Your child doesn't have to be potty trained at the time of enrollment...the teachers were very helpful and supportive during our potty training journey and now our little one is fully potty trained!
This co-op preschool has been so wonderful for my child. She has grown in confidence and her speech/language skills have especially improved. Being a so-op, I got the unique experience of being a part of my child's first education experience. The community is warm and welcoming.
I hadn't heard of co-op preschools until last year and we're so glad we found Village. It ended up being a great fit for our family and our son has truly blossomed in the past year. He was a very shy 2 year old who took a long time to warm up, even to relatives. But at Village, we found a nurturing environment lovingly curated by dedicated teachers and parents. At first we noticed how the older kids would naturally check on and look after our son whenever he cried or felt sad. Then our fellow co-op parents would come up to us and glow about our son's growth and milestones. We were hooked! The co-op work shifts really fostered a community where we all looked after each other's kids. Now at 3, our son's vocabulary has exploded, his emotional growth has made him a very caring older brother, and he surprises us all the time: Saying hi to neighbors unprompted, laughing and dancing at a graduation party in a room of people he just met, and giving hugs to all his relatives. We're very happy to be part of the Village family!
My 3 year old has been in this co-op since he was 2.5 years old. His language and social skills have increased and developed significantly from attending this school. The environment and space, the caring Director and Teachers, the workday parents, and kids contribute to this supportive community. I love that my child loves going to school! The families that I've met are incredible. I enjoy getting to know the diverse, talented, dedicated, and fun parents and teachers. Thank you VNS for creating a space for the humanity of parenting.
My son went to the Village for 2 year's and he loved it there. The teachers are amazing. My son have learned so much from them. As a parent, I am happy to be part of this great community. Being able to participate in my son’s education is such a great experience. Thank you, Village for 2 wonderful years!
Both my boys love it at this great, play-based co-op nursery school with lots of different opportunities for kids to learn and explore and activities that are changed every day. I'm happy that they get a chance to play together and are not separated into different groups or classes. There is a huge outdoor play space with many climbing structures, dramatic play areas, and balance equipment for kids as well as a surprisingly large and productive kid-grown garden in Daly City! Extended care hours that give working parents a chance to participate as well and still have the daycare hours to be able to work a full-time job as well. Totally recommend!
My daughter went there for two years and she loved it. Comfortable environment, lots of play time. Encouraged communication and allowed kids to be free but still had to follow expectations.
